Ervin Griffith
Ervin Griffith, age 83, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on September 25, 2024. Born on May 26, 1941, in Francitas, Texas.
A devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Shirley Chamblee Griffith, and a proud father to his sons, Mike Griffith (Becky) and Dwayne Griffith (Susie), and daughter, Michele Griffith Matejek (Paul). Ervin cherished every moment spent with his three children and four grandchildren Brianna Griffith Bundick (Jim), Garret Griffith (Alanna), Jordan Griffith, Connor Griffith, and six great grandchildren Graham, Grady, Grantlee, Grayson, Gentry, and Wren. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Susie Griffith Jalufka (Fred) of Francitas and numerous nieces, nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.
Ervin graduated from Industrial High School and Wharton College. He worked for Brown and Root and for Worthington Turbines. He was known for his love of the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had a knack for woodworking and often shared his creations with loved ones. Additionally, he enjoyed singing karaoke, bringing laughter and joy to family games and gatherings.
Ervin is preceded in death by his; Father Walton William Griffith, Mother Jesse Faye Green Griffith. Brothers and Sisters; J.W. Griffith (Agnes), Annie Mae Griffith Long (Garland), Vernon Ray Griffith (Mildred), Mack Griffith (Janie), Raymond Griffith, K.O. “Nokie” Griffith (Margerie), Ethel Griffith Tanner (Travis), Faye Griffith Cooke (Haskell), Melvina Griffith Nelson (Pat), Sterling Griffith (Betty), Baby Girl Griffith.
Ervin's kind spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Funeral Home at 3304 East Mockingbird Lane Victoria, Texas 77904.
Rest in peace, Ervin. Your legacy of love will live on in our hearts forever.
