Jackson County cities saw an uptick in sales tax allocations for the month of November 2024, according to figures released recently by the Texas Comptroller’s Office.
La Ward showed the greatest percentage improvement, bringing in $1,035.51 in net payment in January for the month of November, which represented a 19.95 percent increase over November 2023, when the city received $863.26.
The City of Edna brought in the largest net payment from November sales, $116,631.71, which represented a 5.13 percent increase over the $110,931.54 in sales tax receipts from November 2023.
While the City of Ganado saw the smallest gain, it was still an increase after months of lower sales tax allocations in 2023.
Ganado received a net payment from November of $34,212.49, a 0.49 percent increase over the $34,054.71 from November 2023.
On the county level, though, sales tax receipts were down when compared with the prior November.
Jackson County received $116,298.26 for November 2024, as opposed to the $237,650.42 it received in November 2023.
Year-to-date figures are the same as the monthly numbers, due to this being the first reporting period of 2025. The December allocations are scheduled for release on Feb. 14.
