Jackson County cities saw a jump in the amount of sales tax payments received in February from the Texas Comptroller’s Office.
Edna, Ganado, and La Ward all saw jumps in their sales tax receipts of between 31.76 and 68.68 percent, according to the February 2025 Sales Tax and Use Comparison Summary.
The City of Edna received a net payment of $177,544.18, representing a 31.76 percent increase over the $134,745.42 received from the state in February 2024. Looking at year-todate comparisons, Edna has received $294,175.89 thus far in 2025, a 19.74 percent increase over the same period in 2024 when it had taken in $245,676.96.
The City of Ganado received a February net payment of $59,256.78, a 52.59 percent increase over the $38,833.18 it received in February 2024. For the year-to-date comparison, Ganado has received $93,469.27 thus far in 2025, a 28.23 percent increase over the same period last year when it received $72,887,89.
The City of La Ward received $1,397.53 for the February payment, an increase of 68.68 percent over last February when it received $828.48. For the year-to-date, La Ward has received $2,433.04, representing a 43.81 percent increase over the $1,691.74 it received in the same period in 2024.
On the broader county level, Jackson County received $143,757.30 in February, which represented a 6.57 percent increase over February 2024, when it received $134,890.65.
For the year-to-date, though, the county is 30.19 percent down from 2024, receiving $260,055.56 thus far in 2025, versus the $372,541.07 it had received at the same point in 2024.
