Boys Regional powerlifting

The Boys Regional Powerlifting Meets were held over the weekend. Overall, the Industrial boys had the best regional finish, placing 5th. Ganado placed 6th, and Edna was not able to pick up any points at the meet.

Individually Cobras Jaden Kemp, Morgan Mader, Garrett Kolodziejezyk, and Kohl Powell all qualified for the State meet with Powell finishing second and the others hitting a qualifying total to advance. A qualifying total is a set amount in each weight class and if a lifter in the class lifts that total or above, they automatically qualify for the state meet, no matter what place they finish.

For Ganado, Cain Hayden advanced by winning his weight class, although it was unusual circumstances. Hayden finished in a three-way tie for first place, but weighed less than the other two and won his region.
