Beau Vie, translated into Beautiful Life, is located in Edna, and owner Heather Marburger can’t wait to meet you. After a whirlwind beginning with her renovating her and her husband’s first home, then while pregnant with their third they piled into an RV while she renovated their second home. After being in that home a year Marburger saw the Chateau du Sanctuarie for sale on her Facebook page.
“I instantly got the chills,” she said, “without knowing how we would make this a reality, I knew it was possible. But in order to do so we had to sell our new home and move back into an RV while we built living quarters onsite.”
A whirlwind, right? But the designer began to realize what the next thing in her life might be.
The back area is where the Marburger lives now, and after she remodeled the area was featured in Jeanne d’Arc Living, a Denmark magazine which is also available to purchase at Beau Vie, plus other issues as well.
“Jeanne d’Arc Living had seen pictures of my work via social media and I was asked to be featured,” she said. “I was also invited by their US representative to attend a retreat in Denmark located at the home of one of the founders.”
The Marburgers have big plans, but have learned things take longer than the initial idea. Through this, they’ve learned the art of the pivot, but it also brings stress worrying that everything will work out.
“I do a lot of self-meditating, and it helps, we just realize we have to pivot and know there’s a reason for something better,” she said.
If one walks into Beau Vie, it’s hard not to find something interesting and unique. The French-inspired lifestyle boutique has casual to dressy casual clothing from Denmark, antiques, candles, scents, gifts and more. She even carries a 400-year old recipe of chalk paint from France. Nearly everything one sees inside the boutique is for sale, and every piece feels like it was hand-chosen by Marburger, who finds inspiration from everywhere.
“I have a lady who custom- makes all these necklaces, made with French metal, and the earrings are made with antique French buttons,” she said. “So we have one-of-a-kind pieces you can’t get anywhere else.”
If one would still like to book the historic chapel for wedding ceremonies etc., it’s available. Marburger is ready to host your girls’ night, private sip and shops, or even a meeting space.
Operating out of the Chateau du Sanctuaire, Beau Vie is open Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Marburger posts to Facebook and Instagram, and one can also visit the store online, beauvielifestyle. com; currently she sells clothing, and hopes to add furniture soon.
“You can find more clothing in the store than online, but I hope to change that too,” she said. “I’m going to have our homemade tallow, candles, and add them as well.”
Heather and Zach have three boys: Korbin is in sixth grade, Kohen in fourth, and Ariston is in kindergarten, all at Edna ISD. The Marburgers have lived in Edna for 12 years.
