Adult daycare looks to offer transportation
The Amour Adult Day Care in Victoria is looking to expand its clientele by offering pick-up and drop-off services in Edna. Amour Director Bob Alford said that they will offer these services if enough people in Edna are interested. “Edna doesn’t have an affordable transit system to Victoria,” Bob Alford said. “We decided that if there is enough interest in Edna, we will start a route for free and we will bring them to Victoria and take them back to Edna.” Amour, a non-profit, provides licensed nursing care, supervised activities, and transportation to the facility, to doctors appointments (in Victoria only) and to pharmacies for handicapped individuals. “We have a nurse on staff and a dietician that comes and checks our meals,” Jan Alford said. “We’re state regulated, so we’re checked by everybody.” “Our nurses would help set up their weekly or monthly supply of medication. And they can take their meds here,” Bob Alford said. “We do use Rogers Pharmacy and they deliver to us and if they need lab work, we will take them for the labs. They can get their lab work done and get their medications delivered all in one day without ever having to leave the facilities.”
