A concerned parent spoke passionately about bullying during the Edna ISD Board meeting on October 15.
Questions were raised during the open forum period regarding an EISD student, who was allegedly bullied by another student earlier this month.
The parent addressed the board members with their concerns. According to the parent, her son was the victim of bullying.
She told the board that her son, a kindergartener, was being picked on by a fourth-grader. She felt like the school considered it horseplay and the issue was pushed to the side and not addressed. She said that her son was taunted and hit in the face repeatedly. She asked the board members to review their bullying policy and then reinforce it, to help protect kids from being bullied everyday. She told the board members that something must be done “not just for my son, but for all the kids being bullied.”
