Counterfeit $20 making rounds in Edna

     Prosperity Bank in Edna confirmed they had received counterfeit twenty dollar bills from deposits made by two area businesses. They could not confirm which businesses had been handed the fake $20’s but they said they have sent out warning to some area businesses.

    “These counterfeit bills are a little thicker than a normal twenty would be,” a Prosperity Bank representative said.

    Edna Police Chief Clinton Wooldridge said counterfeit twenties are kind of rare as fake $100 dollar bills are usually used.
