Edna ISD coach arrested for Solicitation of a Minor, other charges

An Edna ISD coach was arrested and charged with three felony offenses this morning, Monday, September 16.
Logan Allen O’Connor, 28, was booked into the Jackson County Jail and charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, a third degree felony, as well as two second degree felonies -Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student and Sexual Performance of a Child.
If found guilty, O’Connor could face a possible combined 40 years in prison. The Improper Relationship charge carries a range of punishment of up to 10 years in prison. Online Solicitation of a Minor carries a possible range of punishment of 2 -10 years, and Sexual Performance of a Child carries a possible 2 - 20 years.
O’Connor is a 2015 graduate of Edna High School and has worked in the district since 2020, according to Edna ISD.
The Edna ISD Staff Directory lists O’Connor as a teacher at Edna Elementary School in addition to being a high school coach. On his account on X, formerly Twitter, O’Connor wrote that he coaches football, basketball, and track.
A representative from Edna ISD said the district has no comment at this time, pending a school board meeting this evening.
O’Connor was released on two $50,000 bonds and one $100,000 bond.
