They will accept you with open arms, work with you to set and achieve goals, and provide a caring, supportive, confidential environment to work towards those goals.
Located in Edna, Open Arms Counseling, owned and operated by Whitney Miller, MA, LPC and Rachel Turner, MS, LPC, offers counseling services for children, adolescents, teens, and adults, as well as for couples and families.
“We are excited and honored to be able to provide services for Jackson County and the surrounding area. Counseling is a passion for both of us and we are privileged to get the chance to encourage, guide, and help others in times of need,” Miller said.
“I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy when working with teenage clients and with adults I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These types of therapy help a person restructure their brain to think differently,” she said. “I’ve worked with a broad spectrum of clientele. I’ve worked at a juvenile detention facility, provided drug and alcohol counseling, and worked on a suicidal and homicidal unit. I’ve also counseled clients who have struggled with self-harm. I helped them find solutions to feel pain, without physical self-harm, in order to not leave a permanent scar as a reminder of that pain.”
