Ganado VFD Prepares for Crawfish Festival
By John Meng General Manager/Editor Some traditions are tastier than others, and the annual Crawfish Festival is as tasty as they come. Plus, the event always brings together the community as well as help fund the Ganado Volunteer Fire Department.
This week, the GVFD announced it will host its 14th Annual Crawfish Festival on April 24, 2021. While COVID caused so much uncertainty during last year’s festival and ultimately forcing the event to be canceled, the GVFD is ready to get this year’s event rolling.
“As with every year, this event is only successful because of the generous sponsors that contribute yearly to ensure our community has this amazing event to look forward to,” wrote GVFD Fire Chief Bernard Scott in a public statement. “We understand that the times may be different and that businesses were hugely impacted over the last eight months, but as a community everyone has stepped up to the plate in true Ganado and Jackson County fashion.
“As a community and business leader, we are respectfully asking for everyone’s consideration in becoming a sponsor for the 14th Annual Crawfish Festival. We look forward to seeing everyone this year and will commit ourselves to making sure this year’s festival is just as safe and well planned as it has always been,” said Scott.
