Human trafficking and drugs

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had a busy couple of weeks, dealing with suspects smuggling people and drugs.
On April 29, deputies made a traffic stop on US 59 near CR 202. A roadside investigation revealed the driver and passenger were smuggling individuals for profit. The driver gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search, Methamphetamine was found in- side the vehicle. The driver and passenger were both charged with Smuggling of Persons, the driver was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG1<1G (Methamphetamine). Driver N. Tellez has posted a $20,000 bond on the Smuggling of Persons charge and a $10,000 bond on the Possession of Controlled Substance charge and has been released from custody. Passenger N. Gonzalez has posted a $20,000 Bond on the Smuggling of Persons charge and has been released from custody.
On May 3 deputies conducted a traffic stop at the cor- ner of Main and Wells. Upon making contact with the driver, consent was given to search the vehicle. During the search Methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG1> 1G <4G. The driver, F. Hernandez has posted a $10,000 bond and has been released from custody.
On May 3, while serving two arrest Warrants for Terroristic Threat of a Family/Household on a resident on CR 203, deputies also executed a search warrant for the same property, the search of the property revealed a Marijuana grow operation. Numerous full-size marijuana plants, marijuana grown lamps, six guns, THC Wax, digital scale, recording de- vices and approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana were located and confiscated. The resident was placed under arrest for the Terroristic Threat of Family/Household Warrant and also charged with Possession of Marijuana<= 5LBS >4OZ. The resident, E. Means has posted $10,000 bonds on both the Terroristic Threat of a Family/Household Warrants, a $20,000 bond on the Possession of Marijuana charge and a $10,000 bond on the Possession of Controlled Substance PG2 and has been released from custody.
On May 3 deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 616 in Vanderbilt. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputies detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and also observed marijuana to be in plain sight. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies located 1.5 LBS of Marijuana in the vehicle. The driver M. Flores was arrested on Possession of Marijuana <= 5LBS >4OZ and remains in custody of the Jackson County Jail with a $20,000 bond set. The passenger I. Sosa was found to have an active warrant in of Jackson County for Violation Bond/Protective Order Warrant and was placed under arrest for the warrant; she has been released from custody on a $10,000 bond.
