After Hurricane Michael ravished Florida, Jackson Electric Cooperative sent 10 of its employees, along with five workers from its Bay City Co-op to assist in getting their electricity restored.
“There was not a pole that wasn’t touched,” said Paul Bourland, line supervisor for Edna and Bay City, in a phone interview. “We sent nine pieces of equipment to assist us.”
The crew left Texas on Sunday, October 14, and Bourland expect them to be there at least a few more weeks.
“We are in Sneads, Florida, still working,” Bourland continued. “I feel we will be here at least until November 12. We have sent a few people back and are doing a rotation.”
