Local FEMA says 'There's more to be done'
FEMA's Jann Tracey said there's still more work to be done in Jackson County.
Currently, over 2,000 people have registered in Jackson County, and they have already given nearly half a million dollars, $491,581.27, to be exact.
"We still feel there are more we can help," Tracey said. "Even if you have flood insurance, we want you to still come to us."
The local FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is located in the Edna football stadium parking lot, next to the SBA trailer, Small Business Administration.
"To get FEMA, you must apply to SBA, and if you're offered a loan you don't have to take it to get FEMA help," Tracey added. "It's a necessary step for us to help you."
FEMA also has bi-lingual representatives at their Disaster Recovery Centers and at their registration phone number, 1-800-621-FEMA.
