Never hesitate to say hello

“I believe in government transparency and I will have an open door policy. I want readers to know I’m a very accessible person and I want to hear from the citizens,” Jill Sklar said. “I want to hear concerns.”

Sklar is uncontested for Jackson County judge in November’s upcoming election, and though she won’t be taking office until January 2019, she’s been taking every opportunity to familiarize herself with fresh eyes for the proceedings that are to come.

“I’ve been going to some of the commissioner court meetings to make sure I know what’s going on, because I want to know what they’re dealing with. I plan to be present at the budgetary meetings this summer, I think it’ll help to know everything we’re spending our money on,” Sklar said.
