Potential new softball and baseball complex for Edna ISD

Edna ISD is purchasing land for a proposed baseball and softball complex. The property is approximately 13 acres and is located directly across from the football stadium.
One of the reasons for obtaining this land is to use the complex parking lot as an additional spillover parking lot for large football games and band contests to keep people from having to park on the side of the road. The surveying will take place within a month and following that, the administration plans to involve some community engagement with the bond committee.
This new complex will allow for the high school to have more control over its own facilities in terms of the pitching mounds, when students can and can’t be on the field, allowing Little League more time on their fields and boosting availability for them.
Following the November bond elections, the administration is hopeful they will break ground on this new complex in the Spring of 2024.
