Saddle Up for Alzheimers
Saddle Up for Alzheimer’s is returning to the Brackenridge Main Event Center Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17 and 18 with its Riding for a Cure barrel race event.
Sponsored by Citizens Medical Center, the event raises money for research for Alzheimer’s disease.
The gates open at 2 p.m., Friday and activities include an IBCA barbecue cookoff, with music and karaoke at 6 p.m., barrel race at 7 p.m., and goat roping at 7:30 p.m.
The event continues Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. with team roping.
The IBCA barbecue cookoff continues at 9 a.m. with awards at 5 p.m.
A kids Q begins at 10 a.m. and registration for kids dummy roping is at 10:30 a.m. with the roping at 11 a.m.
An ironman cowhand competition begins at 4 p.m. At 7 p.m. the ranch rodeo and muttin bustin begin and the evening ends with a dance from 9 until 1 a.m.
There will also be a gun raffle, silent auction and more.
Admission is $5 at the gate, and kids 10 and under are free.
