Edna Wells Fargo status uncertain

With most of Jackson County returning to their normal routines following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the Wells Fargo Bank in Edna has not reopened.  

The bank’s customers were wondering about the status of the Edna branch since it had been closed since Aug. 24. The only information available to its customers is a sign hanging on the front door of the bank that tells customers to visit the Victoria branch for their banking needs. Information has been hard to come by, and conflicting, from the people involved in getting bank reopened.

“Because of the impact of Hurricane Harvey and subsequent flooding damage the branch suffered, the facility is currently closed,” Michael King, Wells Fargo vice president of corporate communications Southwest Region said. “We are in the process of assessing the damage to the building. We recognize that customers are eager for the branch to re-open,
