“We got our first win, and we are real proud to have it,” Head Coach Kensey Allen explained after the Cobras 45-7 win against the Louise Hornets Friday night.
The Cobras battled hard under the stadium lights and their hard work has paid off.
Senior Brandon Montemayor started the game with a kickoff which resulted in Cobra Michael Williams with a 2-yard carry.
The Cobras then had a slight setback at the beginning of the game with an incomplete pass to Senior Kie-andre Kelly and flag on the play due to an illegal formation. This, however, did not keep the Cobras down.
Junior Derrick Cann notably made a 22-yard touchdown and two-point conversion, setting the crowd in motion, and everyone on their toes to see what the Cobras had in store next.
“We all played as a team, and pulled in the same direction to get a win. Personally there is still a lot to improve before district, but with more hard work and dedication I am excited to see what the season holds for us.” Cann said.
The Cobras executed well in the first half, which got the ball rolling and the Hornets stirring in their nest.
After a flag on the play the Hornets had no other option but to punt the ball to the 40 yard line, following this Derrick Cann then made a 7 yard carry
