Robert Cykala
Robert L. “Bobby” Cykala Jr., 88, of Ganado, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Bobby was born on May 14, 1929 in East Bernard to Clarence and Bessie Cykala. Bobby married the love of his life, Willie Mae Cykala, on June 30, 1951. Bobby liked to visit with his family and friends. He worked for Alcoa for 39 1/2 years in the pot rooms before retiring. In his younger days he would grow a half acre garden and raised his own animals to butcher and eat. He loved life and was a good jokester. Bobby also liked to take his family and go camping and fishing at the beach. Bobby was a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by all. Bobby is survived by his wife, Willie Mae; children, Robert L. Cykala III (Rose), Denise Kruppa (David), Kenneth (Cindy) and William (Faye). He is also survived by a brother, Tommy Cykala, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence and Bennie Cykala. Visitation was Monday, Sept. 11 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. at the Ganado Funeral Home. Services were Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment followed in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt, Phillip, Steven, and Mark Lutringer, and Chris and Michael Kunz. Honorary pallbearer was Ben Cykala Jr. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Ganado Knights of Columbus or the charity of your choice.
