2nd half mistakes cost Cowboys

The Edna Cowboys had the lead on Friday 14-13 at half time but two fumbles in the third quarter ultimately led to the Cowboys defeat, 28-21.
“We have to tackle better and we need to take care of the football,” Edna Head Coach Jerry Long said. “We said at half time that we couldn’t turn the ball over in the second half to have a chance...and we did it twice.”
Refugio seemed like an unstoppable force in the first quarter taking a 13-0 lead over the Cowboys, but a second quarter interception at the 35-yard line by Cowboy Tristan Pruitt turned the game around.
“When I caught that pick and I looked across the field and saw no one, I knew that I was about to score a touchdown,” Pruitt said.
