First District Win for Indians

“It feels great, we knew we had to come in and win to be a step ahead to make playoffs,” sophomore Cameron Bates said. Bates drove in quite a few touchdowns on Friday night for an Indian win against the Kenedy Lions. The Ganado Indians brought back their first district win for the playoffs. Here is how the Indians kept the Lions in their territory.
Fernando Rubio started the game by kicking it off to the Lions. The Lions tried to advance, but the Indians rumble was too hard for the Lions to handle. Ganado forced a turnover with a loss of five yards placing the ball on the 39 yard line. Senior Toby Ortiz and sophomore Ethan Guerra both took the ball down the field to assist Bates on his first touchdown of the night for the Indians.
