Continuing legacy of giving

A story sits within the Santa sleigh Jackson County ESD#3 firefighters built for the first annual Doug Kelley Memorial Toy Drive at the Edna fire station.

“Doug wanted us to build the sleigh, but we kept putting it off every year,” Nick Strauss said. “But this year we made it specifically in his honor.”

The sleigh sat in the grass outside the Edna police station, and children were given the opportunity to sit beside Santa and get their picture taken. Inside the firehouse, firefighters opened gifts to add to a pile that will be used to help the county Sheriff’s Office and Edna Police Department’s Christmas efforts.
