Frances Padilla Garza

Frances Padilla Garza, 84, of Edna, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.  She was born in Edna on Feb. 19, 1933 to the late Maria Padilla and Samuel Garza.       Frances worked as a professional housekeeper at Care Inn, Jackson County Hospital and Southbrooke Manor, all in Edna. She also worked as an assembly line worker, sorting airplane parts, at the Victoria Airport.     Frances is survived by her sister Josie Ramirez and brother Jose Garza, along with several nieces and nephews.       She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Georgia, and brother Domingo.     Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 at Slavik~Edna Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chris Heinold officiating. Interment immediately followed at Edna Latin American Cemetery.     Pallbearers were Joe David Garcia, Ramiro Samuel Guillen, Mario Morales, Higinio Ramirez, Jr., Diana Villarreal and Scott Willis. Honorary pallbearer was Gilbert Villarreal.     Services were under the direction of Russell Todish of Slavik~Edna Funeral Home, 361-782-2152.
