EMS #3 Captain Nick Strauss said that everyone was spread thin. “We had just gotten to the accident on 822 when we were called about the second one.”
Edna residents David Dee Whittley and Robert Ivory were the people involved in the head on collisions. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
“The pickup (Whittley was driving) failed to drive in a single lane and crossed paths with Ivory’s pickup,” Sgt. Ruben San Miguel of the Department of Public Safety said. “Ivory tried to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful.”
Around 630 there was a second accident on 111 near CR 126 involving a motorcycle and two pickups. The driver of the motorcycle, Ceasar Ramos of San Antonio, died in the accident.
