Delays in GISD construction

Though the completion of Ganado’s new elementary, secondary school and the stadium will absolutely happen, the topic of conversation at the Feb. 22 board meeting was when.
Rusty Wallace, the Ganado onsite manager of Owners Building Resource, reported to the board the steel workers who had been working on the secondary school were moved to the elementary school to keep it on schedule as close as possible. Ideally they would have nine steel workers at each building, but they only had enough manpower for one building.
“The workers confessed they won’t be able to make the August 6 deadline for the secondary school,” Wallace said. “They said the elementary school will be completed by the deadline, but I think even that will be difficult.”
