Billie Browning Miska
Billie Browning Miska left this world and went to her Heavenly home on March 14, 2018. Billie was born on Nov. 14, 1930 in Edna, Texas to Charlie and Linnie Mae Tompkins Browning. She married George Miska on Jan. 7, 1948. Billie and George bought Nagels Service Station in 1965, where they worked, side by side, until George's death in 1994. Billie continued to run the station along with her son Bryan, until her battle with Alzheimers kept her from her beloved business. Billie loved cutting up with her customers and visiting with her friends who would stop by the station every day. She was a kind and generous woman who often helped others in the community. The only thing she loved more than Nagels was her family. Billie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband, George, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Arthur and Frances Browning Stanford and Jim and Cora Lee "Babe" Browning Young, and many dear cousins. She and George raised three children: Charlene Miska Bauer (Rick), Al Dart Miska (Kathy) and Bryan Wade Miska (Becky). Her grandchildren, Budd Ratliff (Jaime), Samantha Miska and Layci Miska (Matt) were the light of her life. Billie had three great-grand children, Kyler Sinclair, Gene Allen Ratliff and Ella Ratliff that she loved dearly. She also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Billie was a firecracker whose bright and beautiful spirit lives on in those who will miss her the most, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kelly Janica, Leonard Steffek, Cory Jacobs, David Egg, Jeff Hicks, and Melvin Seicko. Honarary pallbearers were Andrew Robinson, Tony Norman, Amos Zatopek, Bruce Airhart, Shawn Egg, and all past employees of Nagels Service Station. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Happy Tails of Edna. Visitation was Sunday, March 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Slavik~Edna Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service is Monday, March 19 at 10 a.m. at Slavik~Edna Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria.
