Garza finishes softball career
“I’m going to miss it a lot.”
For the first time since she was eight years old, softball won’t be a part of Madison Garza’s life. Her playing career ended on April 28 the same way that it has so many times; with her picking up a win in the circle.
The Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger senior enjoyed another good season but the stats aren’t impressive until you dig deeper. Garza finished the season with a 6-15 record and a 3.93 earned run average. She gave up 111 runs on the season, but only 86 of those were earned. She had one shut out and 14 complete games, while striking out a team high 139 in 152 innings. Most impressive was her .263 batting average allowed.
