Toman honored for 31 years as Post commander

Ganado’s American Legion Post Commander, Raymond “Bubba” Toman has retired from his position. Toman stumbled into the job and ended up staying there for over three decades. “I first moved to Ganado in 1977 and I saw an advertisement about the American Legion and I wanted to join,” Toman said. “There were only two guys involved at that time but from then on it grew. “When the Commander position came open, I said I would take the job if nobody else wanted it.” New members joined through the years, but when the Edna branch closed, Ganado really gained a lot of new members.
