The East Bernard Brahmas lost for the first time this season when they hosted the Edna Cowboys, but it took a monumental effort for the visiting team to get a victory, Friday, Sept. 21.
The 14-6 loss puts EBHS at 3-1, while Edna improved to 4-0.
The 14 points generated by Edna was by far the lowest tally the team had earned this year as the Cowboys had entered this game averaging 40 points per outing.
The Cowboys iced the game with 5:54 left when Reese Orsak scored on a 1-yard run. Kicker Santiago Villanueva’s point after conversion gave Edna a 14-6 lead.
The circumstances would have been quite different had East Bernard scored on its first possession. The Brahmas took the opening possession into Edna territory, highlighted by a Kobe Brown 14-yard gain but Devin Chapman fumbled the ball inside the Edna 16.
