Jose "Joe" Martinez

    Jose “Joe” “Floyd” Martinez, 80, of Ganado, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 surrounded by his family. Joe was born on March 27, 1938 in Mission, Texas to Jesus Martinez and Ramona Fuentes Martinez.     Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Martinez; his children, Elizabeth Stafford and husband Ted, and Edward Martinez; grandchildren, Kelsey N. Garza and Dalton T. Lugo; great-grandchild Ava Michael; sisters, Delvia Gonzales and Lydia Garcia; brothers, Mario Martinez and Arthur Martinez.     He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Miguel Martinez, sister Delia Verver, and his son Joe Louis Martinez.     There will be a visitation on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church. A Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado with the Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery.     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 361-771-2120.
