Martha Gene Myers

Martha Gene Myers, of Edna, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018. She was born on Jan. 4, 1931 in McAllen, Texas to the late F.W. Lemburg, Jr. and Imogene Gray Lemburg.     Martha Gene and her late husband Wayne Myers moved to Edna in 1950 where they became active members of the community.     Martha Gene is survived by her daughter Susan “Sudi” and Bruce Hamilton; sons, Wayne II “Bubba” and Cindy Myers of Tivoli, Mike and Holly Myers of Edna, and Mark Myers and Sharon Higgins of Houston; sister-in-law, Jan and Spud Brown of McAllen; grandchildren, Heather and Shawn Breitenbach, Holly and Tony Camilli, Susan and Jonathan Dison, Michael II and Louise Myers, Mark II and Larissa Myers, Marisa Myers, Trey Myers, Travis and Kim McClellan, Kate and Chad Henson, Fredrick Myers, and Faith and Ethan Johnson; 15 great–grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.     Martha Gene is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 67 years, Wayne Myers.     Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, from 5-7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the First United Methodist Church in Edna. Reverend Kelli Williamson will be officiating.     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to the First United Methodist Church, 216 W. Main, Edna, Texas 77957.
