Wilma Jean Sloan

Jeannie “Skye” Sloan, 71, of Edna, passed away on October 19, 2018.     Jeannie was born on January 31, 1947 to Joe and Wilma Sloan in Beeville. She graduated from Edna High School in 1965 and from Stephen F. Austin University in 1972. Jeannie was a free spirit who loved the Lord, nature and art.     She lived in California and Minnesota before returning to Edna in 2014.     She is survived by her sisters Linda (Lynn) Wilkerson and Sandra (Dennis) Ray; and brother Joe (Janis) Sloan; also numerous nieces and nephews.     Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents Joe Matthew Sloan and Wilma Lyllus Sloan.     There will be a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Edna Presbyterian Church with Pastor Michael Yonts officiating.     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Slavik~Edna Funeral Home, 361-782-2152.
