The Edna High School Student Council hosted the Texas Association of Student Council’s District 11 Fall Convention on October 31.
The 2018 Jackson County Youth Fair Queen’s court along with the Junior Miss, Junior Miss Congeniality, and Junior Miss First and Second Runners-up were present for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have reigning Miss Texas, Madison Fuller, attended the convention as the keynote speaker.
The 24-year-old Texas A&M University graduate, used her influence to speak to high school, junior high, and elementary students about the habits she feels will make students into leaders in school and in their community. The habits discussed were based on the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and 7 Habits of Happy Kids.
Fuller, a kindergarten teacher, explained how the tools she applied to her classroom can be applied to adults.
“The first habit is to be proactive in how you pursue your goals. The choices you make can greatly affect you in the future, and the way you go about reaching your goals,” said Fuller.
