Lora Oline Churchman

    “Lora" Olene Churchman, 83, of Edna, Texas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2018.     Olene was born on August 24, 1935 in Overton, Texas to John Quincy and Lora Etta Mitchell Humphries. She was a long time resident of Edna, where she worked in the Water Department for the city until her retirement. She was an active member of the Baptist Temple Church, where she taught Bible Study and Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed playing cards,  crocheting, reading, and crossword puzzles. Her trip to Israel, where she was baptized again in the Jordan River, was the highlight of her retirement.       She left a legacy of family and friends; daughter Terry Grewe and her spouse David of Ganado, son Alan Churchman (Diane Davenport) of Austin, sister Gloria Alden of Fort Worth, brother Jerry Humphries of New London; granddaughters Stephanie Shook (Jeff) of New Braunfels, Jayme Woliver (Kevin) of Pearland, Lora Grace Churchman of Round Rock; great-grandchildren Hailee Shook, Kyle Shook, Cash Shook, Charlotte Shook, Rivers Woliver and Kai Woliver, along with numerous nieces and nephews.              Olene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nelson Churchman, and sister Willie Mae Story.     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m .on Monday, November 26, at the Baptist Temple Church in Edna. Visitation began at 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Nelson officiating.     Interment immediately followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.     Olene's family would like to offer a special thanks to Olene's caregivers, Dolores, Erin, Vanessa, Mirada, Dari, Virginia, and Alice.  The family would like to suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her church, Baptist Temple Church, 1001 N.
