Bulldogs end Cowboys ride

In any given year, no matter the sport, or how good the team is, there is one team that seems to give another team trouble. For the Edna Cowboys football team, it was the Yoakum Bulldogs this year. In the rematch, the Bulldogs shutdown the Cowboys 42-6 in the Quarterfinal playoff game and ended the Cowboys amazing playoff run. The Cowboys finished the season at 12-2 with both of their losses coming at the hands of the Bulldogs.
Yoakum used their size advantage to clog the lanes all nights and the potent Edna running game never could get anything going. And the big offensive line held the defense just long enough for the Yoakum offense to keep moving the ball.
The Bulldogs have four starting linemen who pass the 300 pound mark. The Cowboys have none. So the linemen faced a tough task all night.
Edna got the ball to open the game but went nowhere and had to punt. The Bulldogs had the same result in their first drive. The second Cowboys drive netted six yards, but also ended in a punt. But the Yoakum offense came to life during their second drive.
Yoakum got on the board early with a 48 yard touchdown pass that gave the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. The game moved to the second quarter and after another Edna punt, Montreal Jones finished off a 41 yard Bulldog drive with a five yard touchdown run. The 14 point deficit was the largest the Cowboys had faced all season.
