With her apron on and a dremel tool in her hand, self-taught mosaic artist, Brenda Rose teaches the basic tools and techniques involved in creating mosaic artwork.
Nippers, wet saws, and grinders are some of her favorite tools used in her class, Brenda Rose Mosaic Art, held in her home studio in Edna.
Rose’s classes provide instruction in creating glass on glass art, stepping stones, pet memorial stones, mosaic rocks, and a whole lot more. If you want something mosaic, she can do it.
There’s no need to bring any tools; everything is provided. She’s also available to give classes at birthday parties, along with private and one-on-one sessions.
“I’ll teach you how to create mosaic artwork. A mosaic is a picture or pattern created by arranging and glueing together broken pieces of hard material such as stone, tile, china, or glass to create a work of art. I use a pattern that’s much like a coloring book. No one has to feel intimidated about learning. My class is easy,” Rose explains.
According to Rose, it was in 1994 when she became interested in creating mosaic art.
