Samuel Dean Fry
Samuel Dean Fry went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019. Sam was born on Sept. 13, 1974 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Dr. Donald and Kathleen McAdams Fry. He grew up in various areas of Texas due to his father’s travel for work. Sam resided in Victoria when he met the love of his life, Jessica Rosalez in 2008. Sam and Jessica shared wonderful memories during their time together, including when they were united in marriage on Sept. 19, 2015. Sam is survived by his wife Jessica Fry, his mother Kathy Fry, and brother Terrance Fry, also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jesse and Sally Rosalez, grandmother Adela Alvarez, brothers-in-law, Spence and Jackie Fowler and Joseph and Amy Rosalez. Sam is also survived by four nephews and two nieces, Andrew Fry, Joshua Fowler, and Jayden, Jordan, Joseph Jr. and Jonathon Rosalez; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Fry, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Sam had been employed by Lavaca-Navidad River Authority as Project Security and would have had 10 years of service in November. Sam had been in the law enforcement and security field most of his life. Sam also was the owner of Fry’s Nursery and Landscaping with Jessica. He had a love for all things gardening and working outside in nature. He definitely got his green thumb from his mom, Kathy. Sam touched the hearts of everyone he met with his outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with Jessica and family. He had a servant’s heart that lead to developing many relationships in Jackson County. His character, love, and laughter was best served as a Golden Crescent CASA appointed volunteer, as well as playing the part of Santa for their Christmas events. There is definitely a fan club of Sam followers. Services to celebrate Sam’s life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Ganado. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with a Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. under the direction of Rev. Kirby Hlavaty. Pallbearers are Karl Cranek, Clay Ullman, Casey Fry, William Alex, Steve Thompson, and Stephen Lang. Honorary pallbearers are Terrance Fry, Andrew Fry, past and present LNRA employees, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Ganado Police Department and the Golden Crescent Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made at Jackson County Federal Credit Union in Sam’s name in care of Jackie Fowler or Elizabeth Girndt.
