Bobbie Wofford
Bobbie Nell Burkholder Wofford left this earth on Feb. 11, 2019. She was born Aug. 8, 1933 in Kilgore, Texas to the late James Alfred Burkholder and Viola Mae Fowler. She married Eiland Curtiss Wofford on June 30, 1951 in Columbia, S.C. while he served in the U.S. Army. She is preceded in death by her parents (James and Viola), her husband (Curtiss) and her two brothers, James E. and John R. Burkholder. Bobbie is survived by her daughters Linda Kay Kolar and son-in-law Jerome D. Kolar of Los Alamos, N.M. and Kathy Lynne McPeters of Bowie; three grandchildren, Christopher B. Kolar (wife Melissa,) of Edgewood, N.M., Chastity N. Kolar of Los Alamos, N.M. and Kevin T. Pullen (wife Mandy) of Bowie; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Fisher and Tanner Pullen and Waverly Kolar and Keiland Kolar. Also her aunt, Lucille Fowler Tidwell of Henderson; sister-in-law, Dealma Steen Burkholder of Victoria; and many nieces and nephews. Bobbie worked for LaWard Telephone Company about 20 years. The last four years she has lived in Bowie at the Advanced Rehab and Healthcare of Bowie. She loved to travel, play bridge and paint. Her travels took her throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Asia. She also loved to play volleyball when in school and later in Lolita. The family has asked that donations be made for Alzheimer’s research or charity of your choice. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Feb. 18, at the First Baptist Church of Lolita. No graveside services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
