Tommy Neuman
Tommy Ray Neuman, 75, of Lolita, passed away, on March 4, 2019. He was born on August 11, 1943, in Ganado, Texas, to the late Steve Jerome Neuman and Ella Jean Darnell Neuman. Tommy graduated from Tidehaven High School in 1962. On April 21, 1965, he was inducted into the United States Army Vietnam. While he was in Vietnam, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. When he came home, he started working at ALCOA in Point Comfort, Texas, as a sheet metal worker/welder. He was a part of the United Steel Workers of America. He also joined the VFW in Port Lavaca and became a lifetime member. After 31 years of working, he started growing watermelons and cantaloupes with his grandsons. He was very proud of both of his grandsons; he would follow their football and band events in school. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Jane Nickel Neuman; sons, Tommy Brian (Kristina) Neuman and Christopher Ray Neuman; brother, Truman Neuman; grandsons, Wyatt Christopher Neuman and Morgan Lee Neuman; nieces, Jana Huddleston, Deana Gomez, Charlotte Neuman; nephews, Randy Rickaway, Allan David Neuman, Kyle Neuman, John Kenneth Neuman; along with numerous nieces. In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Rickaway; brothers, Bobby Neuman and George Neuman. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will begin at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 9, in the Red Bluff Cemetery of Lolita. Pastor David Murff will be officiating. Pallbearers are Wyatt Neuman, Morgan Neuman, Kyle Neuman, Allan David Neuman, Tommy Brian Neuman, and Christopher Neuman. Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice.
