Billy Gene Yendrey

  Billy G. Yendrey passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease. Billy was born on December 23, 1933, in Jackson County to the late Irene Green
Whiteworth and Noyeal E. Yendrey.
  Billy leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Charlene, and his three most precious possessions, his daughters, Rhonda Meek (Mark), Judy Lueders (Doug), Sheila Gabrysch (Kenneth); grandchildren, Russell Meek (Bonnie), Ashley Meek Burns (Tyler), Lauren Lueders Harner (David), Jonathan Lueders (Caitlin), Aaron Marak (Jordan), Allie Marak Heibel (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Silas Burns, Thomas Meek, and Travis Meek; along with nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
  Billy was an avid sports participant and fan. Football was his favorite. He graduated from Industrial High School in Vanderbilt in 1953, where he participated in many sports activities. He served a period of active duty in the US Air Force from July, 1953 to July 1957. Basic training at Lackland AFB and special tech training at Sheppard AFB. He was then sent to Germany for 3 years, where he was a Flight Engineer and Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He previously worked for Mobil Oil Co. before becoming employed at Alcoa in 1960 for 30 years as a millwright in the Mechanical Maintenance Department. He then retired to life on the Ranch where he spent time working his cattle and maintaining his farm equipment.
  Billy loved life and lived it to the fullest. Many road trips were taken with his family touring several States and places of interest.
  Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Irene Green Whitworth & Noyeal E. Yendrey.
  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, on Thursday, June 13, 2019, Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel, Burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Edna, with Pastor Isaiah Villarreal officiating.
  Pallbearers will be Russell Meek, Jonathan Lueders, Aaron Marak, David Harner, Tyler Burns, and Tyler Heibel.
  Special thanks to New Century Hospice and Ganado Nursing Center Staff for taking such amazing care of Billy.
