Adan Salinas Garza
Adan Salinas Garza, of Edna, Texas, formerly of Houston, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the age of 76. He was born in Edinburg, Texas on Jan. 8, 1943, to the late Alfredo Garza and Beatriz Salinas Garza.
Adan served in the United States Air Force for four years, before retiring and beginning his career at the United States Postal Service. Adan was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and a man of God who will be missed dearly.
Adan is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maureen Garza; children, Karen Garza and John Garza; grandchildren, Payton Cooper, Kaitlyn Garza, Tanner Cooper, and Emily Garza; great-grandchildren, Harper Werney and Evelyn Garza; sisters and sister-in-laws, Viola Palacios (Oscar), Cristina Vargas, Adela Garza and Guadalupe Garza; brother and brother-in-law, Alfredo “Pilin” Garza Jr. and Roger Seymour; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Adan is preceded in death by his sisters Corina Garza and Rose Maria Garza; and brothers Aurturo Garza and Armando Garza.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with the rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, in the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Petering officiating. Burial will follow at 2:15 p.m., in the Houston National Cemetery of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Vasquez, Allan Wallace, Mark Wallace, Christopher Flores, Vidal Garza, and Tanner Cooper.
