Bennie Washington Jr.

    On October 16, 1956, God blessed Bennie and Dollie Washington of Edna, Texas with their first son Bennie Eugene Washington Jr.     

Bennie accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Edna High School class of 1975 and then went on to Ranger Junior College.     

He leaves to cherish his memories: his son Bennie Washington III; three siblings Deborah Tate, Patrick Washington, and Dana Harris;  three nieces Denise Tate, Bridgett Washington, and Carla Upson. Also, a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends.     His mom and dad proceeded him in death. Bennie spent most of his adult life in California before returning to Texas.     

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”     

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery, 800 Westheimer Road, Houston.
