Ganado golf at Columbus
On Tuesday, Feb. 15, the Ganado Maidens golf team competed in the Columbus Tournament and came away with second place team honors. The Maidens shot 472 to finish second behind tournament champion Columbus 409, and 14 strokes ahead of 3rd place Burton (486).
Hannah Kelly and Jaxyn Bures lead the way for the Maidens with 115 and 116 respectively.
Other scores for the Maidens were Kayleigh Pape 120, Mary Reid 121, and Bella Adrian 123.
"I'm extremely proud of the work these girls put in last week,” Head Ganado Golf Coach John Marek said. “A lot of them saw some significant improvement in their game. We still have a lot of work to do, but I'm excited about our potential."
The Maidens will get a week off before heading to Weimar to compete in the Wildcat Invitational on March 2nd. Maidens, 472, 2nd. Hannah Kelly, 115, T9; Jaxyn Bures, 116, T12; Kayleigh Pape, 120, T18; Mary Reid, 121, T23; Bella Adrian, 123, T33.
The Ganado Indian golf team competed in the Columbus Tournament on Monday, Feb. 14, and finished in 7th place with a 438. Sealy won the Tournament with a 343, followed by Columbus 373, and Weimar 380.
Bryce Ullman led the way for the Indians setting a career best 101. Other scores for the Indians were Ashton Strauss 107, Coy Smith 109, Cain Hayden 112, Ethan Gonzalez and Callen Hajovsky each with 121.
"I thought overall we played like we were a week better this week,” Marek said. “I'm happy with our progress, but we still have a lot of work to do to reach our goals."
