Agustina Baez-Corpus
Agustina Baez-Corpus, of Ganado, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 49. She was born in Rayon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico on October 26, 1972, to Baldomero Corpus and Belem Corpus-Gutierrez.
Agustina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. As a woman, Agustina was the foundation that held the Baez home together. As a mother, she was the love and compassion that was shared to every one of her sons and daughters, and as a grandmother she was the contagious smile and happiness that everyone loved. There are so many things that we will remember about her-like the good advice she gave on different aspects of life and how she strongly encouraged her sons and daughters to be successful and always give their best effort. Though she may be gone, her family and those who loved her will continue to remember her as the amazing individual that she was.
Agustina is survived by her father, Baldomero Corpus; her husband, Leonardo Baez-Martinez; her daughters, Maricela Vanegas (Rene), Crisna Johnson (T.J.), Belem Baez (Carlos Hernandez), and Cielo Baez; her sons, Leo Baez (Mary), Kevin Baez (Emily), and Alan Baez; sisters, Cecila Corpus, Paula Vega, Lucia Corpus, and Agapita Corpus; and brother Juan Corpus. Agustina is also survived by her grandchildren, Brianna, Ally, Reynna, Anahi, and a grandchild on the way.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Belem Corpus-Gutierrez.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Baez, Leo Baez, Alan Baez, T.J. Johnson, Rene Vanegas, and Carlos Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 10 a.m., also in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Texas. Pastor Andy Schroer will officiate.
