Betty Jenkins

     Betty Lou Jenkins, age 87, currently of Montgomery,Texas passed away peacefully February 20,2023.She was born October 16th, 1935 in Ada,Oklahoma to Benjamin and Aline Wells.She grew up in Edna,Texas and graduated from Edna High School in 1953 then went on to business school in Austin,Texas.She married James Fred Jenkins, in May 1954 who preceded her in death in 1978.
     Betty loved to help people. She was very active in church, regularly played piano for the service and volunteered for bible school. She had a great passion for reading and spent many an afternoon engrossed in a new book. She always surrounded herself with cats and dogs and they definitely lived their best lives.
     For many years Betty worked at Motors Insurance Company (General Motors) in various locations throughout Texas. It suited her servant heart. She did an outstanding job of excelling in a man's industry at the time and refused to quit! She was a very headstrong, independent woman that lived life on her own terms and was known for her wit and heartfelt conviction.
     Her life was a living example of a favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Betty is survived by her Daughters,Janet Galyean,Husband Bill Galyean and daughter Donna Jenkins.Grandchildren,Terra Harrison,husband Jason Harrison and Dustin Galyean.Great Grandchildren,Tyler Galyean(25),Dylan Harrison(18) and Annie Harrison(8). All of these she loved and touched deeply.

     Services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 12:00 PM-1:00 PM in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Montgomery, Texas 77356.
