Virgie Bowen Wiegand
Virgie Bowen Wiegand, of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the age of 66. She was born in Ganado, Texas on November 9, 1957, to the late Virgil Bowen and Doris Smith.
Virgie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker who will be dearly missed.
Virgie dedicated the last 30 years to serving her community as a Registered Nurse at Jackson County Hospital. She cherished the friendships she made through work, co-workers and patients along with their families, and took pride in her work and being able to provide compassionate care for so many in her hometown.
Virgie is survived by her daughter, Wendy Campbell husband Jeff Campbell; sons, Wes Wiegand wife Misty Wiegand and Alan Wiegand; sister, Tutti Nottingham; brothers, David Bowen wife Judy Bowen, Monty Bowen wife Maxine Bowen, Jack Myers wife Teresa Myers and Roger Bowen; nephews, Jasper Bowen wife Andria Bowen and Jason Nottingham; nieces, Hannah Bowen, Jennifer Bowen, Cynthia Myers, Jackie Myers, and Janet Bruce husband James Bruce; grandchildren, Aiden Wiegand, Hannah Baxter, Joshua Campbell, Conner Clark, Carson Clark, John Campbell, James Campbell, Averi Bowen, Joanna Bowen, and Hailey Bowen.
Pallbearers were Carson Clark, Conner Clark, James Campbell, Darrell Hoffman, John Hicks, and James Bruce.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas. Pastor Jack Hutson will be officiating.
The family extended an invitation to a luncheon held at Vanderbilt Baptist Church following the burial.
