Albert Jerome Andel
Albert Jerome Andel, of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the age of 100. He was born in East Bernard, Texas on December 2, 1923, to the late Frank J. Andel, Sr. and Wilhemina Landa Andel.
Albert was a farmer and rancher for over 55 years in Jackson County. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. Albert was an active member of the KJT, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Albert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Marie Andel; his sons, Albert D. and Sally Andel, Patrick J. and Maureen Andel; daughter, Sharon K. and Jeff Carroll. They have 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Wilhemina Andel; brothers, Frank Andel, Jr., Willie Andel, George Andel, Anton Andel, and Theo Andel; and sister, Annie Kramer.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Andel, Jay Stevens, Dalton Andel, Clint Bain, Tate Darilek, and Clinton Andel.
Honorary Pallbearers were Albert’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Dawson Kallus.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. all in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Interment followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna. Father Michael Petering officiated.
