Mary dedicated 56 years to her husband, Ernest Garcia, and valued her family and friends deeply.

She worked as a pharmacy technician and activity director before discovering her true vocation as a Pastor for New Harvest Christian Church. Mary was respected for her dedication as a wife, mother, and pastor, as well as for her kindness, vibrant spirit, and impactful sermons.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ernest Garcia; her two daughters, Stephanie Sutherland and Anna Garcia; her twin sons, Ernest Garcia and Fabian Garcia; her grandchildren, Audrianna

Garcia, Brandon Garcia (Kristin), Fabian Garcia (Megan) Stephen Salazar, Jordan Garcia, Jesse Sanchez, Megan Salazar, Ethan Sutherland, Kayla Garcia, Nina Garcia; her 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Alfaro; brothers, Pete Alfaro (Luisa) , Rudy Alfaro (Alicia); along with her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, dear friends, and her church community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Alfaro and Aurora Castro Alfaro; her brothers, Gilbert Alfaro (Janie) and Margarito “Robert” Alfaro.

Pallbearers are Fabian Garcia, Brandon Garcia, Stephen Salazar, Ethan Sutherland, Ben Gonzales and Anthony Gonzales.

Honorary will be Mary’s remaining grandchildren, Jesse Sanchez, and Jordan Garcia.

Visitation wa son Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the Prayer service from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Anthony De Los Santos officiated.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at 11 a.m., also in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Isaac De Los Santos officiated. Interment followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Edna.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna.
