Kenneth Gene Marek, of Edna, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born in Wharton, Texas, on January 31, 1955, to the late Daniel J.

Marek and Martha Bartos Marek.

Kenneth worked as an electrician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, BBQ-in and he was an active member in his church. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with them.

He was a simple man that enjoyed the simple things.

Kenneth is survived by his longtime companion Clara Novak Menefee; daughters Steffanie Thompson and Kayla Perry (Greg); sons, Toby Marek (Tisha), Matthew Sikes, Joshua Marek, Kelly Menefee; sisters, Diana Naiser Orsak (Tommy), Donna Barrett (David), and Nancy McClain (Daniel); brother, Dennis Marek (Janice); brothers-in-law, Donnie Novak (Debbie) and Wayne Novak (Michelle); sister in laws, Shirley Aldis (Joe), Gerry Lynn Thompson (Kevin) and Julius Matula. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Annette Marek Matula.

Services for Kenneth were held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the Funeral Service beginning at 10 a.m., with the Reverend Harold Staples officiating. Internment followed in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado, Texas.

Pallbearers are Brady Janca, Brandon Walleck, Clint McLain, Cody McLain, Chris Harter and Kelly Menefee.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna.
